Procedural Coder Certification is offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders.   After achieved Certification as a Procedural Coder, the individual can apply and be considered  for fabulous  opportunities as medical encoder in the many and varied professional healthcare facilities, offices and surgeries.

This is basic certification is basic but also there are other more focused and advanced types of studies on offer by the American Academy of Professional Coders. These specialised credentials enable an individual to improve his/her expertise within a given focus and enable a professional  jump start their medical coding careers, possibly  into a different type of specialization altogether.

To pursue the continuing education needed for a career in medical coding allows for a wider range of employment options;  it also widens the career opportunities for coders to have and manage your own medical coding company.
