Letters To Santa

Are you aware that Canada Post holds the Guinness World Record for receiving and replying to the largest number of letters written to Father Christmas. Children who write to Father Christmas receive a letter from him with their envelope being stamped as coming from the " North Pole".

More than 11,000 Canada Post staff and retirees and volunteers help with Canada Post's "Write to Santa" Christmas project/s. From across the world hundreds and thousands of children each and every year, spend time writing to dear old Santa pouring out their hearts asking for special presents for them and for their families. They send their letter to the North Pole and then receive an answer for the "Man in Red" himself. And including Braille the letters are answered in the language of the child.

Canada Post asks parents to ensure that no food stuffs are included for Father Christmas in the letters for example Christmas cake or a glass of Port. Neither products tend to travel well. The letters should of course include a return address so that Santa can reply and it is a must must that the right postage is included. Also there is a cut off date for the teachers to send their classroom letters. That date is December 4.
